fees must fall is a students led protest movement that began October 2015. started by the university of Witwatersrand SRC in response to an increase in fees at south African universities. fees must fall was aimed to convince the government and tertiary institutions of south Africa to eliminate tuition fees completely.this movement was established by students in order to fight against fees increasing by 8% in varsities,this protest movement was based on requesting the government to stop or change his decision of increasing the fees at universities because some of the students do not have money to pay for their fees.

                   Advantages of #feesmustfall

• fees must fall helped the students who were poor to get space and opportunity to study at university without paying large money for their fees of their studies.
• fees must fall was a good movement to speak on behalf of the students who was using cash to study because of the leaking of bursaries ans NSFAS in south Africa.

                  Disadvantages of fees must fall

• universities infrastructures  were damaged by the protesters, that led the institutions to spend more money to fix that issue.
• fees must fall was also have the negative impact because many people died because of this protest movement which is fees must fall.
• the process of lecturing was disturbed and some of the students get themselves not graduating in time and repeating the modules that coursed the traffic in classes.

                      

Recommendations

Both government and these universities were supposed to sit down and re-evaluate the situation at hand and comes up with conclusion which was going to work best for the students and the institutions they were studying at,maybe  to drastically decrease the price of fees or to works towards providing everyone fear price to study.I recommended  that fees must fall protesters was not using the universities infrastructure in order to get attention of the government and the public as a whole, because that led to the big problems especial in the universities.this movement  were suppose to be done in peace without loosing someones life and destroying properties. 

             

        Conclusion

The #feesmustfall has created a lot of controversy with all its happenings over the past.to be a student at that moment was very crucial as they may be a change on the horizon as the students who were behind the protest requesting fees of the tertiary education to be decreased or reduced.its is a fact that tertiary fees are too expensive and for many people it was hard to obtain the funding to sent themselves or their children to universities ,but fees must fall was demanding a lot fro government such as free education for all,South Africa economy is poor so how can we get that free education but i think government was overreacting by increasing fees with 8% because many people are unemployed so where they can get that money to pay for their children.
